Choosing tools
Disciplytics vs. Gloo: engagement platform vs. analytics layer
Gloo and Disciplytics both serve churches, but they answer different questions. Gloo helps you reach and engage people — messaging, campaigns and AI-powered outreach. Disciplytics helps you understand what is already happening — attendance trends, giving cohorts, fund health and the households who may be drifting. Many churches would use them side by side.
Two different jobs
Gloo
Gloo Workspace is a technology platform for the faith ecosystem: AI-powered tools to understand congregants, reach new people and engage them through messaging and campaigns, all in one place.
Disciplytics
Disciplytics connects read-only to Planning Center and turns your existing attendance, giving and serving records into trends, cohorts, forecasts and a pastoral care list. It never writes back to your data.
Side by side
The Gloo column describes the platform's public positioning as we understand it. Feature sets change — check Gloo's own site for its current offering before deciding.
| What you want to know | Gloo | Disciplytics |
|---|---|---|
| Primary job | Engage and reach people: messaging, campaigns, AI-powered ministry tools | Understand what is happening: trends, cohorts, forecasts, care signals |
| Where the data comes from | Activity inside Gloo's own tools and connections | Your existing Planning Center records, synced nightly |
| Attendance trends and rolling averages | Not the platform's focus | Built-in, by campus, updated nightly |
| Giving year over year, fund health, forecasts | Not the platform's focus | Core of the product: YoY charts, concentration, lifecycle, fiscal-year forecasts |
| Communicating with your congregation | A central strength — messaging and outreach tooling | Not included; Disciplytics surfaces who needs attention, your team reaches out |
| Individual giving amounts in reports | Depends on the tools you connect | Never shown — aggregates only, by design |
| Ranked list of drifting households for follow-up | Not the platform's focus | Care list: names and contacts, no dollar amounts |
When you do not need Disciplytics
- •Your main gap is communication — sending messages, running campaigns and reaching new people. That is Gloo's home ground.
- •You are not on Planning Center. Disciplytics reads Planning Center data only.
- •You only need this Sunday's headcount — your check-in reports already do that.
When Disciplytics earns its keep
Engagement plus understanding
If you use Gloo to reach people, Disciplytics tells you whether the underlying trends are moving — attendance, giving, guest return — from the records you already keep.
Recurring leadership reporting
If someone rebuilds the same spreadsheet before every board or elder meeting, that work is the thing worth automating.
Try it against your own data
Every plan includes a free trial with no card required, and there is a demo mode with sample data if you want to look around before connecting Planning Center.
Common questions
Can I use Gloo and Disciplytics together?
Yes. They do different jobs: Gloo helps you engage and reach people, Disciplytics helps you understand your attendance, giving and care trends from Planning Center data.
Does Disciplytics send messages or run campaigns?
No. Disciplytics is deliberately read-only analytics. It surfaces what deserves attention; your team communicates through the tools you already use.
Does Disciplytics work without Planning Center?
Not yet. Disciplytics syncs Planning Center attendance, giving, people and serving data through the official OAuth connection.
Is my data safe to connect?
The connection is read-only and revocable, giving is reported as aggregates only, and survey results are suppressed for groups under five respondents.
