Ask a question

How do I design a question set worth asking, and who should answer it?

Admins only. Start by choosing what you need to understand: take a quick pulse, assess congregational health, evaluate a program or understand a group. The first two use established Disciplytics surveys. Program and group evaluations open the guided builder only after you have chosen the focus.

  1. 1For Take a quick pulse, review the Quarterly Pulse. For Assess congregational health, review the Congregational Health Assessment. Confirm its name, repeat schedule and background questions before creating it.
  2. 2To evaluate a program, name the ministry or initiative, then describe its purpose, activities and intended outcomes in a short Ministry Model. Those outcomes replace the preset learning-goal choices.
  3. 3To understand a group, choose the group first. The live count shows how many people are in it and how many can be reached by email, then you choose what you need to learn.
  4. 4For each intended outcome, choose relevant library questions or write one that reflects your church's ministry. Church-written questions are clearly identified and are never described as validated.
  5. 5Use the optional Question Coach inline to check wording, then accept, edit or ignore its suggestion before adding the question.
  6. 6Read the design check, review the survey, then create it. Focused evaluations open wave 1 immediately; established surveys wait on Active surveys until you open their first wave.

Group evaluations continue to use curated learning goals, measures and the question bank. Program evaluations use the church's Ministry Model as their goal and can combine relevant library questions with church-written questions. Results remain aggregate-only and groups under 5 responses stay hidden.
